Lark & Berry featured twice in 'Our Royal Baby' celebrating Meghan Markle and Prince Harry

We have been featured twice in the ‘Our Royal Baby’ book!

The book, written by the royal correspondent Robert Jobson, celebrates Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's journey from romance and engagement through marriage and new parenthood.

Lark & Berry lovelies, we are a little over midway through 2019 and have so much to celebrate, with lots of exciting things coming to finish out the year—including a collaboration in the works with an actress from a well-known and regarded historical drama TV series!

But the task at hand is taking our victory lap for our inclusion in ‘Our Royal Baby.’ We are so excited to have our game-changing cultured diamonds featured not once, but twice, in this lovingly written and photographed book! Our Royal Baby is available now in hardcover, currently stocked by Waterstones, St. James’s House and Amazon.

First thing’s first, Lark & Berry is the FIRST feature of ‘Our Royal Baby.’ It’s only fitting—as you all know, Lark & Berry is the first designer fine diamonds jewellery brand to exclusively use cultured diamonds. So, for us to be profiled as the first featured company in this gorgeous book is perfect!

The piece is entitled ‘Cultured Beauty,’ and features Lark & Berry founder Laura Chavez detailing her lifelong love of luxury jewellery, her realisation that exclusive use of sustainable, cultured diamonds would be her entry-point into the market and acknowledgement of Duchess Meghan Markle’s role in spotlighting sustainable brands.

“I really admire Meghan as a promoter of sustainable products,” says Chavez.

“She is currently one of the biggest female influencers in all of the UK and perhaps the world. The Duchess’s unwavering support for sustainable materials and charity work is nothing short of amazing. It’s such an honour to have not one, but two features in Our Royal Baby. It’s a crucial way for Lark & Berry to get the message out to consumers that there is now fine jewellery utilising high-quality, more sustainable and ethical diamonds.”

Our Royal Baby is written by the best-selling, award-winning author Robert Jobson, who has chronicled the Windsors for the past 30 years. He did such a great job profiling Laura and Lark & Berry! For instance, we really loved this excerpt from the ‘Cultured Beauty’ article, which details the earliest seeds of how Lark & Berry came to be, the resistance cultured diamonds have faced and how we persevered:

As one of only a handful of jewellers ready to embrace this new opportunity [cultured diamonds], Chavez initially encountered some resistance within the industry. “Some factories didn’t want to work with us,” she says. “Now – just a year later – we have companies emailing us every single week.”

Lark & Berry’s Creative Director had some initial reservations, too. “She was used to working with mined diamonds, so she took a little convincing,” says Chavez, “but when she saw the quality of cultured diamonds, she immediately got on board.”

Lark & Berry’s beautiful pieces attract a diverse audience. “We have quite a spectrum,” says Chavez. “It’s often women shopping for themselves, sometimes it’s a 25-year-old, sometimes a much older lady – we recently had a 70-year-old here for a fine piercing!”

Some customers discover the company because they’re specifically looking for ethical diamonds, while others just come in because they like the designs, says Chavez – “and when they hear our story, they love us even more.” She accepts that it can take time for people to understand cultured diamonds, “But once they discover them, they never look back. That’s why we’ve grown so fast!”

…and that’s not all! Like we said up top in this blog, we were featured TWICE in Our Royal Baby!

Later in the book, our award-winning asymmetrical Bow collection once again stole the show by with a full-page colour photo complimenting the second article about us, called ‘Faultless Elegance.’

Our beautiful Bow has commanded attention all over the world with its 11.6-carat cultured diamond necklace, 2.5-carat cultured diamond earrings and a 2.4-carat engagement ring and wedding band all set in platinum!

And what’s our favourite part of THIS article, you might wonder? Well, Laura has some great quotes detailing the launch and success of Lark & Berry’s luxury piercing feature in our Marylebone flagship brick-and-mortar. Book your appointments with us now, because after our double endorsement from Meghan and Harry, the queues are gonna get long!

Here’s a great excerpt from ‘Faultless Elegance’:

In Lark & Berry’s Marylebone boutique, the glass cases of trend-setting stackable rings and delicate pendants are complemented by diamond and coloured-gem hoops and labrets designed specifically for the in-house piercing salon.

“We are the only boutique piercing with cultured diamonds,” says Chavez. “Our piercing experience is a great gift for a loved one, or a fabulous activity for mothers and daughters to experience together. Or you can just treat yourself to something fun, new and luxurious.”

The in-house professional stylist and piercer is on hand during customer consultations to help them select the right purple sapphire labret, say, or pavé diamond small hoop for single or multiple piercings.

“We’ve gone a long way to ensure that our jewellery for piercings is very fine and elegant. These aren’t standard studs – we ‘curate your ear’, as we say, in a luxury experience while keeping a style that works for you.”
